To late

A damaged, fragile soul in this twisted world

So hungry for love, so starving for affection

Frame frail, worn with the burdens you carry

An easy target with no one to give direction

Alone in this world, staying with strangers

You met a man who promised the world

But dark shadows, crept towards your soul

Wind gushing, pulling you into the storm

It felt like a new start, fresh surroundings

Don’t even notice the vines twisting

Wrapping themselves, binding you down

Till you were just another cognito listing

The vines deception, felt like warmth

Like a hug on a sunny midsummer day

Finally felt home, they took care of you

But in exchange they traded your soul

Made of light, so you gave and you gave

You would do anything to prove your love

Unknowingly, being led to your early grave

On the ledge just waiting for the shove

No longer of use, now you’re just evidence

Sitting while you wait, for your inevitable fate

Thinking it’s love, while they’re making plans

You won’t even realize, till it’s much to late
